WORK

ART HISTORY IN CONTEXT.

The Art Historian's Artist.

Andrews is a visual and installation artist creating large-scale, multisensory multimedia installations and site-specific environments. Drawing on art history, critical theory, and semiotics, her work examines how meaning shifts across historical time and cultural context.

Through appropriation, juxtaposition, and material transformation, Andrews engages art's systems of representation, authorship, exchange, and value—including art as commodity, explored in Olympia, her silk exchange installation.

Her work extends the continuum of artistic dialogue, inviting viewers and patrons to question inherited perspectives and reconsider the histories through which art is understood. For the art historian, recognition often arrives with a wry, knowing smile—a signature of a practice that has earned Andrews international invitations for academic engagements, residencies, and exhibitions.
